April Business Spotlight: Upslant
We all remember feeling better when outdoors; a little less stressed, especially when taking in a view of the horizon – be it fields, woods, hills or the beach. This is perspective taking.
And we can recall those times when ideas seem to flow and creativity improves when not at the keyboard trying to think harder; the thoughts and answers just seem to come to us. This is an epiphany moment.
Entrepreneurs, SME leaders and managers within organisations can find it difficult to delegate, sustain personal resilience or unlock untapped team performance and potential. Upslant capitalises upon that perspective taking and creates moments to allow your epiphanies to flow. It encourages Reflection of yourself, Connection with nature and others, and Direction for yourself and team to work towards.
We support exploration to identify root causes of your business and leadership problems and collaborate to achieve improvement and lasting impact. Upslant provides a unique blend of wellbeing and resilience support with this coaching practise. Delivered through outdoor walks in the local Nottinghamshire area and Peak District, Upslant uses 1-1 coaching and small group bespoke sessions on designed routes, with specific reflection points and challenges to meet business and team needs. These sessions promote stress reduction, allow for deeper reflection, creative thinking and perspective taking, as well as light exercise.
Wellbeing, HR and CPD budgets within your business can be used to fund your performance growth, wellbeing and contribute to your personal resilience. Sessions can be delivered remotely or in the Mansfield area too (not just the outdoors!), on a frequency that keeps you on track. Beyond remote calls, a great way to start is the Bookend session; a local walk on either a Monday or Friday to help you reflect on the week and set you up for the next.
Upslant was established in January 2026 by Kieran Wilkinson. Finishing a 20 year commissioned officer career spanning the British Army and Defence Intelligence, Kieran brings expertise in human-human connection, high performing teams and leadership development. He also brings recent public sector digital transformation experience, partnering with small tech firms and supporting enterprise level digital change, op model design and cloud adoption.
