Support Local Sports and Strengthen Your Business Visibility with North Notts Hockey Club
Imagine a business being showcased to a growing local community while being part of the exciting return of North Notts Hockey Club to its historic home at Manor Park. As the club takes the next steps to rebuild and enhance its facility, they are offering a unique sponsorship opportunity that will place a brand at the heart of this vibrant, community-driven space.
North Notts HC were established in 1949 and up until 2020 had always been based in and around Mansfield. The club currently operates four men’s and ladies’ teams of all abilities and has a thriving juniors section.
For the past four years, however, they have been travelling to Worksop to fulfill their training and match requirements. This was due to the pitch they had used since 1986 being closed by the School Trust, who held the overall lease due to it being financially unviable for opening for third-party lettings. This is the only suitable facility in the Mansfield District, so the club has been working with a number of stakeholders, including MDC, NCC, and Ben Bradley (as the MP at the time), to secure a return for the hockey club. As of August, the hockey club has become the direct leaseholder of the pitch with a view to competitive hockey returning from September.
Their wider ambition is to have the facility completely resurfaced, as the current pitch is approximately 22 years old and at the end of its lifecycle. If successful in their fundraising, the resurfacing of the pitch would enable the facility to be opened up to more of the community, providing additional space for other sports teams and the general public to use.
This is a significant project, requiring around £400,000 to complete. To help achieve this, they have launched the “Join the 600” campaign, inviting local businesses to sponsor the new facility for £500. The club hopes that 600 local businesses will sponsor them and contribute to 75% of their fundraising goal.
In return, businesses will receive prominent, long-lasting recognition on new signage around the pitch, which will remain in place for the entire lifecycle of the facility. Additionally, companies will be highlighted during the launch event, which will feature local media coverage. Sponsors will also be invited to attend the event, where they can engage with the community and other local businesses.
